Masia Serra produces wines from DO Empordà
His story begins in 1996 when Jaume Serra and Sílvia Vilà, after finishing his studies in Oenology and Economics respectively, decided to launch his own wine adventure and life project, beginning to produce a few bottles from the small vineyard of Grenache that Jaume's grandfather had planted in 1961. Other varieties such as Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot and Marsselan ... they populate part of the 13 hectares that today make up the estate of Masia Serra.
Jaume step by the emblematic Châteaux Petrus in Bourdeaux, led the way they wanted to go from the beginning. In addition, the experience gained over the years dedicated to the wine consulting throughout the country, has provided an important background knowledge. Jaume grew up in a family of long tradition in winegrowing , grandson of a wine dealer and son of well known oenologist, Simó Serra.
The result of hard work, dedication and enthusiasm have managed to Masia Serra is currently one of the references in the Empordà wineries.
