Ground

Masia Serra is located in Cantallops (Alt Empordà), a traditional picturesque village located in the foothills of the Alberas, the transitional mountain range that originates with gentle slopes in the Emporda plain to the south and ascends to the Pyrenees that form a border with neighboring France just a few kilometers north. Masia Serra is located at the foot of the road that leads to the XI century Requesens castle, surrounded by forests of oak and megalithic monuments from an even earlier era.

At Masia Serra olive groves alternate with grapevines, planted in ground of granite and silica that remind us of the gneis.

The vineyards here must grow hardy in order to survive the scourge of the tramuntana, the infamous Emporda wind that blows strong from the north and punishes the vines without mercy, while at the same time aiding in the prevention of cryptogrammic diseases and blessing us with translucent and diaphanous skies to light the magnificent Mediterranean landscape.
